Job Description


The Opportunity:Adecco is partnering with a global commodity trading business (specializing in agriculture/soft commodity), and we are seeking a talent to join their business as a Senior Trade Operations Executive. Reporting to the COO based in the US, the successful incumbent will fulfill all aspects of commodity purchase and sale contracts execution in compliance with company policies - including negotiating Letter of Credit and computing laytime calculations, and be a senior to gel and motivate the team.

  • Work location: Central Region
  • Work hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm
  • Salary: Monthly basic up to $8,000 + VB (depending on experience)

The Job:
  • Manage international purchase and sale contracts under various INCO terms, from FCA to DDP.
  • Oversee full trade execution for container and bulk shipments, ensuring timely documentation and compliance.
  • Review and validate Letters of Credit, coordinating necessary amendments and handling shipping documents for L/C negotiation or collection.
  • Support trade financing with required documents and arrange cargo insurance.
  • Perform vessel laytime calculations and finalize details with relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (trading, treasury, shipping) and external stakeholders (suppliers, buyers, inspection companies, banks).
  • Ensure prompt buyer payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Enter data in ITAS, oversee vessel operations, and guide junior team member.
  • Appoint third parties and manage customs compliance for shipments.
  • Act as a point of contact for disputes, protecting company rights under contracts.
The Talent:
  • 6-8 years of experience in agricultural commodity trading, including laytime calculation. Alternatively, experience in dry commodity will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of commodity trading processes, L/C, sales contract terms, and dispute resolution.
  • Experience trading with regions like China, Brazil, Thailand, India, and awareness of geopolitical risks (OFAC, US/EU sanctions).
  • Familiarity with UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522, and Incoterms is beneficial.
  • Ability to work together in team settings and provide mentorship to junior members.
