Here's your chance to join our Global Delivery Operations team in a highly visible role of Senior Training Operations Manager in the Partner Training division of AWS Training & Certification.

In this role, you will lead a team of Training Operations Specialists (TOpS) that orchestrates the day-to-day operations of our Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) Partner Training business spanning pre-delivery, day of delivery and post-delivery class management. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders (Partner Enablement Managers, Technical Trainers, Marketing, etc.), Senior Regional, and Global Business Leaders to drive operational excellence within the APJ geo. You are a self-starter with strong leadership skills, a track record of enabling a team to complete complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance, an ability to react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround while also intermittently taking a bird's eye view on our operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and partnering with our stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:

Team Management:

Manage a team of Partner Training Operations Specialists (TOpS) across Asia Pacific Japan, focused on both repeatable and dynamic tasks.
Demonstrates understanding of performance and leadership bar, apply it effectively to team members and to new hiring decisions.
Builds robust launch plans for new team members & owns progress tracking.
Provides regular coaching and feedback to direct reports to help them individually grow functional skills
Perform regular 1:1's with each of your direct reports; promptly addressing any performance, conduct, or attendance concerns.
Partner with each of your direct reports to form career growth development plans that help them discover and achieve their career goals.
Daily coordination of team duties, team capacity planning using pipeline management to react or plan for dynamic business fluctuations or changing levels of demand. Lead in meetings, assigning work deliverables, and communicating team performance with management.
Be an Advocate of Amazon’s hire process (and at the forefront) for the team and broader T&C organization, and own the team’s new hire onboarding program
Communicate and maintain the team vision, Amazon’s Leadership Principles and culture with the team.

Operations Management and Productivity:

Operationally responsible for delivering results through efficient, timely and accurate processes to ensure AWS T&C’s competitiveness by relentlessly managing input & output metrics, drive continuous improvements and hold a strong process governance.
Own the planning and execution of the team’s capacity that is required to support the APJ Partner Training business to achieve its goals. Executes and makes plans to deliver business metrics.
Performs deep-dive analysis and drives improvement opportunities based on the deviation, problem, root cause, and solution.
Independently manages escalation/ complex customer cases through to resolution at speed.
Manage regional operating budget, including purchase orders, invoicing and tracking.

Stakeholder Management:

Contributes as required in regular business reviews and planning meetings on behalf of the APJ functional team.
Interact regularly with Senior Leadership within the global, region and country function and cross functionally, to influence business decisions using data, and strong judgments.
Proven track record of partnering with technology teams and leveraging automation to drive efficiencies in operational processes.

Hire and Develop:

Work closely with the (Recruiting, HR) to establish tenets for hiring Ops talent.
Be a Leader in Amazon’s hire process for the team, and ensure the effectiveness in the team’s new hire onboarding readiness.
Foster training and experiential opportunities that lead to improved team performance and progression.
Supporting the team’s career growth plans and development, including succession planning.
  • 4+ years’ experience in high pressure operations environments, leading operations teams to achieve exceptional outcomes
  • Proven track record of managing managers and scaling teams
  • Proven track record of managing global impacting projects
  • Knowledge/Understanding of Cloud Computing and/or AWS will be considered a bonus.
  • Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment.
