This role will be based in Singapore.Senior Vice President, Regional Construction, AsiaWhat can you expect?Reporting to the Asia Construction Complex Accounts Leader, the principal responsibility of the role is leading the placement and account management of large clients and projects. This will include all facets of the broking life cycle, including the following.

  • Develop and drive the strategic direction for market approach and tenders
  • Lead market negotiations and placements
  • Act as a technical broking resource to the rest of the Asia Construction team and other Marsh Client Executives. Advise on best technical practices and engage in a process of formal and informal transfer of knowledge to junior team members.
  • Facilitate relationship building with key internal stakeholders in local offices as well as Client Executives
  • Market relationship management
  • Account management of major technical projects, such as project financing, complex contract reviews and bespoke placement structures
  • Build a strong understanding of our solutions portfolio, a deep understanding of the Marsh Construction customer value proposition, and our key differentiators
  • Overseeing the progression of client claims
The candidate is expected to have the tenacity to drive results by being creative and innovative, combined with exemplary team working and rigorous attention to detail, such that they deliver positive outcomes for both the client and Marsh.We will rely on you to:
  • Lead engagement with senior brokers and key decision makers of existing and new complex clients/projects.
  • Drive collaboration with global placement teams in the coordination of complex placements.
  • Identify and develop new product, platform, and cross-sell opportunities
  • Develop and deliver digital services
  • Contribute to the development of the Asia Construction Growth Strategy.
What you need to have:
  • Strong experience in market and client management, with demonstrated experience managing challenging clients and placements.
  • Consistent with the requirements of the role, an advanced understanding of construction insurance and brokerage business and the associated risk landscape. More than ten years of construction insurance market experience, or similar tenure in another specialist line of insurance
  • Proven technical broking skill to manage complex renewals. Deep underwriter relationships and an established positive reputation in the insurance market
  • Confidence operating at the CEO/Exec level with appropriate gravitas, with the experience and capability to present to small and large audiences, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Process oriented and able to prioritise projects and deliverables.
  • Clear understanding of a project life cycle and the key criteria for successful execution.
  • Commercially credible with the ability to express value propositions and cost benefits.
  • Proven record of driving growth, delivering strong financial results and providing excellent client service.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills alongside a collaborative approach to building and delivering success
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic combined with a positive attitude.
