What the role is:

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) seeks to transform Singapore into a leading global city of talent, enterprise and innovation. The Trade Divisions in MTI support this by formulating Singapore\'s foreign economic strategy, expanding our external economic space, and safeguarding our economic interests in the international economic arena.

What you will be working on:

Trade officers in the Americas Division are part of a dynamic and dedicated team responsible for advancing Singapore\'s economic engagement with key markets and regional organisations in North America and Latin America, including the United States. You will work on creative and innovative initiatives with colleagues in MTI and our economic agencies that will develop your international economic perspectives, capabilities and experience by: \xe2\x80\xa2 Analysing and reporting on geostrategic developments and trends that affect the flows of goods, services, and investments; \xe2\x80\xa2 Formulating and refining strategies, policies and plans that enhance Singapore\'s bilateral and plurilateral economic relations with the Americas, often in consultation and coordination with other ministries and agencies across the Whole-of-Government; \xe2\x80\xa2 Networking and developing connections with foreign government and business counterparts; \xe2\x80\xa2 Preparing and executing communications, consultations and engagements with key stakeholders in the business community and general public; \xe2\x80\xa2 Organising and representing MTI in visits, meetings, negotiations and conferences.
