Job Purpose

Responsible to support the dedicated Grassroots Engagement branch to manage SMRT Faces programmes, interface with Advisers and Grassroots leaders to establish relationship and situation awareness to handle sensitive issues and foster community collaboration. This position will work closely with the Customer Relations branch.

Responsibilities

Executive/Senior Executive, Grassroots Engagement duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be changed/assigned from time to time.

  • This is a dynamic role which involves aspects of community engagement, project management and relationship management. Reporting to Senior Manager, Grassroots Engagement, you will execute and support the Company's grassroots and community engagement/initiatives to build partnership and relationship with Grassroots Advisers, Grassroots leaders and communities, raise situation awareness to highlight sensitive issues and foster community collaboration. The work is fulfilling, challenging and exciting.
As part of a dynamic team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment to:

Responsibilities
1) Support and coordinate community engagement efforts and programmes
o Managing and implementing community development activities throughout the organisation, including raising community awareness internally and externally on community matters that are pertinent to SMRT, its constituents and the communities it directly impacts.
o Support and coordinate "SMRT Faces" programme

2) Support and manage community feedback
o Support to handle all community feedback including those from MP, Grassroots and SMRT Faces (together with Customer Relations branch)
i. Channel feedback (SMRT related issues) to Customer Relations for processing

3) Plan and execute ground community and grassroots events and activities
o Support community activities that build affinity between the company and its communities.
o Support and execute community activities, prepare logistics, conduct on ground recce together with grassroots and Ops

Qualifications & Work Experience

Qualifications and work experience include:
  • BSc degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or relevant field.
  • More than 2 years of experience in community relations, corporate communication and engagement or operations management.
  • Good written and oral communication skills liaising with government agencies and/or community organisations.
  • Possess ability to function at a high level in a team setting or as an individual contributor.
  • Good interpersonal and analytical skills, proven project management ability, resourceful and proactive.
Skills

Technical skills include:
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom/Teams workshop style meeting
  • Understanding of Customer Relationship Management system e.g. Microsoft Dynamics (optional)
