Job PurposeThe Senior/Executive Engineer, Condition Monitoring will collaborate with other divisions in SMRT to facilitate development and maintenance of digital solutions. The engineer will work on varied Rail Assets applications to support condition-monitoring (e.g., using IoT or Sensors) in the areas of instrumentation for data acquisition and Cloud infrastructure for transfer, storage, and analytics. These will be conducted under guidance and/or facilitated with industry training modules, as part of an experienced team that is expanding. Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge, including experience with electrical wiring, is required with instrumentation hands-on familiarity in PLC or SCADA set-up preferred.ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities for Senior/Executive Engineer, Condition Monitoring are as listed below. The list is not comprehensive and related work activities may be assigned from time to time. * Understand key business processes and challenges of maintenance regimes of rail assets.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and document their business needs.
• Engage end-users on a continual basis for feedback and improvements.
• Apply knowledge in electrical and electronics principles for instrumentation system set up, testing and commissioning.
• Understand the varied failure modes of the rail asset to identify choice of key proxies to monitor.
• Instrument IoT / Sensors for monitoring of rail assets to acquire the data for the identified proxy.
• Develop automated IoT data pipeline, simple database and APIs on a Cloud platform.
• Perform simple data analysis with visualizations to support IoT data verification
• Attend occasional site work (day or night) as part of a team during project delivery.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Diploma and Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or similar field
• Hands-on instrumentation experience and data analysis would be an advantage
• Experience with LIDAR Sensors / 3D Mapping / SLAM algorithm would be advantage.

SkillsTechnical skills include:

• Willing to learn and passionate about programming and instrumentation.
• Basic knowledge and formal training in electrical circuits and fundamentals.
• Working understanding in electrical, electronics and power principles, circuit theory.
• Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment, measurement tools, and techniques.
• Have exposure to a high-level programming language e.g., Python or MATLAB, for data analysis and verification.
• Awareness on dynamics of voluminous data to deployment efficiency and an attention to detail.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, Microsoft Azure cloud services (IoT Hub and Azure Sphere) will be an advantage.
