Job Description

Job PurposeRailway infrastructure such as tracks, tunnels and viaducts are inspected and monitored routinely to ensure safe use. Data from laser measurement systems, photo imaging systems and maintenance work records are analyzed to determine system defect trends, drive maintenance actions, and transform maintenance regimes to achieve higher levels of network safety and reliability.Apart from using the insights to refine preventive, condition based and predictive maintenance regimes, simulations will also be carried out to guide spares provisioning and right sizing of the workforce.ResponsibilitiesThe Engineer will assist the Section Manager for Maintenance Technology Integration, OA&T and is responsible for

• Working with Data Engineers and Cloud Solutions Architect to implement data pipelines
• Developing extract-transform-load (ETL) scripts to ensure a high level of data quality
• Teaming with Railway Infrastructure Engineers to support fault diagnostics, mine insights from reliability trends to support maintenance program review
• Enhance maintenance dashboards to ensure timely and accurate defect status info for the Maintenance Engineers
• Scout for maintenance & green technologies.
• Support the implementation of sustainability projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure the alignment of projects with overall sustainability and compliance goals.
• Project management of ESG initiatives.
• Monitor and report on sustainability performance metrics.

Qualifications & Work ExperienceDegree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering / Computer Science / Computing or equivalent from a recognised institutionDemonstrated programming competency in Python or equivalent programming languagesDemonstrated dashboarding competency in PowerBI or equivalent dashboarding softwarePrevious Railway System experience would be advantageous.SkillsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills. Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Technical Officers.Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations.Able to independently conduct data analytics to generate actionable results.Able to independently visualize data to explain concepts, insights, and trends.Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.Effective organizational and planning skills.Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English.We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.About SMRT CorporationSMRT Corporation Ltd (SMRT) is a public transport services provider.
