We are a hub of knowledge and innovation, attracting healthcare professionals who are passionate about pushing boundaries and making significant contributions to the field.About Department and Purpose of the PositionThe National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) is a national specialist centre under the National University Health System (NUHS). It is the only public cancer centre in Singapore treating both paediatric and adult cancers in one facility.As the Executive/Senior Executive in Charge of Palliative Care clinic operations and administration at NCIS, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the palliative care services offered nationwide. Your responsibilities will encompass both strategic leadership and operational management, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency within the palliative care division.Key ResponsibilitiesService Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to advance palliative care services aligned with the mission and goals of NCIS together with the Palliative Care team.
  • Collaborate with senior management, and multi-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders to integrate palliative care into comprehensive cancer and non-cancer care programs.
  • Compile and leverage on key data indicators of palliative care standards to contribute to National Palliative Care Guidelines (NGPC) and National Minimal Data Set (MDS)
  • Drive innovation in palliative care practices and policies to improve patient outcomes and experiences (for example through the National Palliative Care Giver Survey conducted annually by Singapore Hospice council).
Operational Management
  • Manage day-to-day operations of palliative care services (inpatient and outpatient)
  • Monitor, optimize and protocolise operational processes to ensure efficient service delivery and resource allocation.
  • Implement quality improvement measures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Assist with administrative and secretariat duties as required
Financial and Resource Management
  • Develop and manage budgets for palliative care operations and initiatives.
  • Optimize resource utilization to achieve financial sustainability and cost-efficiency goals.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including clinical departments, research teams, and administrative units.
  • Collaborate with external partners, community organizations, and advocacy groups to enhance palliative care services and outreach efforts.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in healthcare administration, or a related field. Clinical background in palliative care or oncology will be advantage.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement principles.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and implementation skills, with a track record of driving organizational change and innovation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and inspire teams.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and a deep understanding of the psychosocial aspects of serious illness.
