The opportunity:
Sephora University SEA is looking to hire a Education Partner for Beauty to be responsible for developing beauty expertise across all Sephora worlds (Makeup, Skincare, Fragrance, Haircare) for our Retail Store Teams throughout SEA. They will lead the pathway and program development for all beauty related education including analysis, design, deployment, implementation, and evaluation.
This role will drive education strategies to support Sephora\xe2\x80\x99s unique Service Culture and DNA whilst ensuring standards are met through retail pathways, programs, and retail beauty services\xe2\x80\x93supporting the achievement of sales plan plus the skills development of Sephora store teams.

The Sephora SEA Retail activity spans over 6 countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia and Korea) with 50+ stores and boasts some global flagships as Ion in Singapore or Pitt Street in Sydney. The business unit has experienced rapid growth in the region with many more stores and countries to come.
Today, Sephora SEA retail has more than 1300 employees across the 6 direct markets (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand & Korea) including the Regional HQ in Singapore and the local HQs across markets.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish Sephora\xe2\x80\x99s voice as the beauty authority with beauty and category skills; through, learning pathways and program development in order to drive key retail KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and category penetration.
  • Define, design and develop tiered pathways that encompasses a variety of skill levels from beginner to advance for Sephora Makeup, Skincare, Haircare & Fragrance with a supporting recognition program - certification framework for SEA markets.
  • Lead the design, development and production of beauty focused roles, pathways and programs to ensure consistency & quality of content. Proactively partner with key stakeholders in both region and country (Training, Retail & HR) as needed.
  • Develop the beauty skills of country training teams (Train The Trainers) to meet the markets training and business needs.
  • Lead the education component of retail beauty Services for Sephora University SEA.
  • Adopt a blended learning approach (Live, Digital, Social, Discovery) when designing and deploying training programs to meet the diverse needs of SEA markets.
  • Lead retail beauty trend training and development in partnership with SEA\xe2\x80\x99s category and marketing teams.
  • Act as SU project lead on projects that span category/beauty, trends and/or services.
  • Collaborate with SU Education Partner \xe2\x80\x93 Brands and Sephora Collection to foster brand partnerships and ensure synergies with the Sephora Collection brand and beauty skills.
  • Collaborate with SU Education Partner \xe2\x80\x93 Business to adopt Sephora SEA omni service & selling behaviours, ensure synergy across strategies to drive coherent and consistent messaging for Retail Store teams.
  • Strategize and partner with regional Merchants & Marketing to develop beauty skills to support key trends and launches.

Key competencies
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in training in a retail selling environment.
  • Cross category beauty experience essential, certification preferred (particularly in Makeup Artistry).
  • Certification in Learning & Development would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of adult learning pedagogies and instructional design principles.
  • Experience in social and digital learning preferred.
  • Project management an advantage.
  • Experience working with SEA countries an advantage.
  • Experience working as part of a remote team an advantage
  • Proven ability to develop and facilitate educational seminars, ensuring participant learning and mastery of content.
  • Entrepreneurial and able to work in a fast-paced environment with numerous stakeholders.
  • Good planning, time management and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
  • Hands-on and solution-oriented with the ability to manage and lead others to do the same.
  • Client and commercial centric mind set.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business KPIs through training development.
  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of the customer, translating those needs into educational focuses.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive/effective partnerships.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management in a fast paced, high growth, evolving environment.
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Sound computer skills (Office 360).
  • Effective planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses professional appearance with the ability to uphold Sephora DNA & values.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for business purposes.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays.

Management / Reporting Line
  • Supporting a growing Education community across the SEA countries (Australia/New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea)
  • Work closely with Country Training Managers as they form a larger project management team to deliver key initiatives on the training roadmap
  • Reports to the Director of Retail Education
