We are continuously improving automation and bridging the gap between cost, customer needs, and innovative tools to ensure the best possible experiences.We're seeking a future team member for the role of Server Engineer to join our APAC Engineering Platforms team. This role is located in Singapore - HYBRID.The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the distributed compute server environment within the APAC region primarily as part of the Platforms team, working closely with regional and global technology teams to ensure the effective delivery of server engineering services to the Asia Pacific lines of business. You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of operations and support services for the server estate to global engineering standards, plus documentation and troubleshooting. Operational responsibilities span multiple data centers regionally and globally. Responsibilities also extend to assessing current distributed server & compute infrastructure and you will be expected and encouraged to make recommendations for management, process, service, and operational improvements.You will also be secondarily responsible for serving as a team member for Data Center Services APAC as part of APAC Infrastructure Operations team. You will be expected to support vendor escort, hardware break fix and new project deployment in Data Center with the guidance of Data Center Services team as dictated by business need.To be successful in this role, were seeking the following:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant technical skills and experience managing enterprise servers.
  • Take a regional responsibility for server support, project delivery and all control functions within the APAC server estate, including technical projects, deployment & delivery, and server infrastructure engineering disciplines.
  • Manage multiple initiatives that further transform and optimize the APAC server environment, being accountable for the successful delivery of server initiatives and ensuring they are on time and within agreed budget.
  • Being the driving force for all server engineering activities within the APAC server estate.
  • Communicating and collaborating with key global technology teams, ensuring that best practices and standards are agreed at a global level and deployed regionally for all compute initiatives.
  • Proficient in business and technical communications both written and verbal.
  • Understands and can articulate technical subject matter expertise to general audiences.
  • Work closely with release and deployment activities providing guidance and oversight, demonstrating drive and capability to deliver assured, reliable installations and migrations with zero unplanned downtime and minimal service impact.
  • As a technical expert, demonstrate an in-depth view of the server/compute infrastructure, providing direction and feedback in the evaluation and amendment of documented deployment configurations and operational guidelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, managing the service to support the Incident/Problem Manager, the Technology Service owner and deliver a quality operation to the consumers of Distributed Compute Platform Services
  • Provide knowledge transfer and technical training to other team members to elevate and improve their technical knowledge and application of skills across a range of relevant services.
  • Adapts well to change, self-motivated, inquisitive, and collaborative plus a good problem solver.
  • Oversee the installation, upkeep, decommissioning, and disposal of all necessary hardware within the data center.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure all pertinent parties are promptly informed of any changes.
  • Support the planning and implementation of operational needs such as rack space, cabling, and power management in Data Centers and APAC regional server rooms.
  • Possess a working knowledge of various UTP and Fiber cabling standards, along with troubleshooting skills.
  • Serve as secondary team member for Data Center Service team and be available for overtime as dictated by business needs and managerial direction. Provide coverage for a standard weekday shift from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with additional overtime and weekend work as necessary.
Skill Set /Experience Requirements:Essential:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022
  • Virtualization hypervisors VMWare ESXi, vCenter, Aria Operations, Operations for Logs
  • DR tools such as Site Recovery Manager and Zerto
  • Intel server hardware such as Cisco UCS blades and rackmounts, HPE servers
  • Hyperconverged infrastructure such as Cisco HyperFlex and Dell VxRail
  • Active Directory management including file services and permissions.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and logical reasoning skills.
  • Experience in data center operations and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in server, storage, and network hardware break-fix.
  • Fundamental understanding of data center critical infrastructure, including UPS, CRAC units, fire suppression systems, and electrical distribution.
Desirable:
  • Experience with Infrastructure management tools such as Ansible, Terraform and BladeLogic
  • RHEL 7, 8, 9 familiarity
  • Cloud migration and deployment experience in MS Azure, AWS
  • Scripting experience using Powershell.
  • ITIL (Best practice processes, service support and service delivery disciplines)
  • Certification in VMWare, Microsoft, and Cloud
  • Experience working with SAN Storage Platform such as PURE is a big plus.
  • Professional qualifications in Data Center operations such as Certified Data Center Professional
