Job Scope

• Promote coffee consumption by educating customers, selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment,
• Accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies.
• Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
• Sell coffees by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
• Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, expresso, expresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
• Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.

Job Requirements

• Have passion for the coffee industry. Relevant experience in a similar role and environment is an advantage
• Good command of the English language. A secondary language is an advantage.
• Have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
• Willing and able to work shift work.
• Understand the customer; who they are, their expectations and how to effectively manage their part of the overall service experience to ensure repeat custom.
• Ensure procedures are carefully followed at all times.
• Have a good level of understanding of the restaurant and hospitality industry.
• Be uncompromising in achieving company standards.
