Tasks



Cross Department Support


  • Commencement
    : Support setup of local network switches, notebook, scanner, insertion of names into commencement application when required
  • Support Classroom Teaching Support team (CTS): Work on end user device issues which CTS cannot resolve it



Cluster Maintenance

  • Liase with users on software application and license to install.
  • Install and configure application.
  • Work with SS team on setup of network license.
  • Image cloning and maintenance.
  • Routing patch application
  • Application update and user profile cleaning
  • Troubleshoot application / OS issue.
  • Provide EUD support for scheduled classes (May have after office hour or weekend classes)



Event Support

Provide EUD related support and where necessary AV support if AV engineer is not available. May need to station engineer for full duration of events.


Cluster / Library Support Upgrade

  • Refresh of PC/Thin Client which includes hardware setup, creating and configuring of images with faculty / department software application, mass cloning, liaising with PC vendor on hardware setup, generating MAC address / serial number list, securing hardware to table, etc..



Competency Circle / Central Project

Additional task /projects that are outside of the normal EUD tasks to uplift the skillset of the engineers.


Central Initiative / Request

EUD tasks that are to be applied on a large population of users (e.g., Upgrade of email client for Modern Authentication, upgrade of firmware for Thin Client etc)


Enquiry

General advice to the users e.g., EUD purchasing advice on selection / comparison etc.


Vulnerability Management

Resolving vulnerability of server OS as well as application software / license manager. Resolving vulnerability on EUD devices for OS or application. EUD devices may be PC/notebook, NAS storage, CCTV, etc. May involve liaising and working with vendor to obtain or apply patch.


VIP Support

Provide EUD related support for users without logging tickets. Devices are usually corporate issued but may involve user\xe2\x80\x99s personal items like notebook, mobile devices or home routers, etc


PC Assessment / Wipe

Assess the condition of PCs in terms of both physical condition and/or operational capability. Perform part of swap from different faulty PCs to built working PCs. Dismantle and perform secure wipe of Storage devices from EUD devices (notebook/PC/Copier/CCTC/recorder etc)
