Service Engineer based in Singapore

Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining technical equipment and machinery within the service center. This role ensures high-quality repairs that comply with departmental KPIs and QARA requirements, supporting Smith & Nephew in strengthening long-term customer relationships and maximizing equipment value.
What will you be doing?

  • Perform routine diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of equipment and machinery under supervision.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Conduct equipment calibration and functional checks according to established protocols.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), QARA requirements, and safety regulations during all service activities.
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and documentation.
  • Ensure tools, test equipment, and the service area are kept in proper condition.
  • Provide technical support and respond to service requests promptly.
  • Assist in communicating service findings and recommendations to customers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely within the team to gain hands-on experience and enhance technical skills.
  • Support process improvement initiatives within the service center.
  • Participate in training programs to build expertise in equipment, systems, and troubleshooting methods.
What will you need to be successful?
Success in the role will requires a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills, and a deep understanding of both the business and service-providing sides of an organization.
Successful candidates would need the following:
  • Diploma in biomedical/mechanical/electrical engineering (or similar)
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing or repairing medical devices is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and consensus-building skills.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
