About the team Our Commercial team is a pivotal component of Doctor Anywhere. We\'re a tenacious group in charge of a wide range of business development and strategic partnership initiatives. Our primary job is to establish and expand our collaboration with insurance providers, healthcare agencies and corporate clients in order to provide healthcare to employees and the community.
About the role

We are seeking a Head of Business Development (Singapore) to join the Singapore team who will lead a team of talented Business Development Managers & Executives to identify and secure new business opportunities as well as lead relationship development for key clients (eg. Insurers, Brokers, Corporate MNCs). This role will require the candidate to be both data and relationship-driven, with intuitive strategic insight to understand clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs, patience and empathy to cultivate trust, and identify key value propositions to engage meaningfully with multiple stakeholders of different departments.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned dealmaker and an entrepreneurial and experienced sales leader with business development and strategic partnerships experience. He/She has the ability to think through how markets need to adapt to support paradigm-shifting technology. The candidate\xe2\x80\x99s core skill sets should be in business development, deal execution, partner and stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, project execution, and team leadership.
The candidate will need to be a proven growth leader with the ability to work independently and at the same time work effectively with DA leadership and cross-functional teams. As a team leader, the candidate should possess passion, empathy, motivation, and demonstrated success managing a high-performing team. A strong interest, curiosity, network, and experience in technology, healthcare, insurance are desirable. Lastly, candidates should be comfortable working up and down organizations and with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally, and be capable of building strong relationships with partners and customers.
This role reports directly to the Vice President, Commercial.
A summary of the key responsibilities and requirements are as follows:

  • Coach, lead & inspire a team of Business Development Managers (BDM) & Executives (BDE).
  • Set the direction, strategy, sales targets and priorities for the Singapore Business Development team.
  • Own and manage the team\xe2\x80\x99s annual revenue targets and budget plans.
  • Own key client relationships at the C-Level and be responsible for B2B revenues for the Singapore market.
  • Develop Go-to-Market strategies and lead the team to secure successful opening and closing deals, end-to-end support including pitching, alignment, negotiations, contracting, implementation and engagement.
  • Build and maintain a continuous pipeline of new business through plans for proactive outreach, managing qualified leads and targeted account mappings
  • Ability to navigate large corporate organizations, network, and sell to multiple buyers within varied layers of an organization
  • Identify upsell opportunities within the existing client base and explore new revenue conversations on new and existing DA products and services.
  • Create strong relationships with key corporate decision-makers and senior leaders to secure confidence in DA services.
  • Foster a strong coaching culture with the BDMs & BDEs to nurture an effective & collaborative sales team.
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, marketing, production, and content development to build a funnel for new business opportunities and to resolve issues faced by clients
  • Proactively communicate relevant information to various cross-functional teams to ensure they have the necessary understanding to make decisions
  • Maintain easy, quick and high-quality interactions with all touch points and escalate resolutions in a swift and client centric manner
  • Drives development and implementation of technical parameters, policies and frameworks for others to work around with

About you
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with a minimum of 15+ years of progressive business development sales and account management experience in a fast-paced Employee Benefits environment, within Brokers, TPA or Group Insurance environment dealing with large complex client relationships is a mandatory requirement.
  • Proven track record of managing, coaching & leading a high performing sales team.
  • Highly customer-focused individual with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with proven sales track record and stakeholder\xe2\x80\x99s management experience
  • Process critical thinking, problem solving and exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Persuasive, collaborative - able to work across multiple stakeholders and influence drive brand-right implementation.
  • Highly motivated and innovative individual possessing the ability to work under pressure and to continuously meet tight deadlines and service standards
  • Self-starter, independent, organised with strong business acumen
  • Unquestioned integrity and high standards in the work you do
  • Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn and grow
