Oil, gas, and fuel markets rely on OPIS spot benchmarks in refined products, NGLs and LPG, ethanol and biofuels, refinery feedstocks, and petrochemicals. OPIS\' price-discovery methodologies are in accordance with IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions) Principles for Oil Price Reporting Agencies and with European Union Benchmark Regulation (BMR).
Key responsibilities:
Identify, research and report on new developments in Asia-Pacific renewable energy markets.
Ensure operational continuity and support business development initiatives
Provide daily market commentaries and market stories
Accumulate spot market price transactions from industry participants via email, instant messaging and by phone. Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to OPIS pricing methodology to create daily price assessments.
Generate breaking and feature news alerts on Asia-Pacific\'s energy markets
Develop and maintain rapport with key contacts and liaising on a daily basis with industry stakeholders (Producers, Consumers, Traders, Brokers and other participants) to collect bids, offers, and spot deals.
Support existing clients with a focus on increasing Dow Jones\'s exposure inside client organizations
Give presentations at client meetings, speaks at industry events
About You
Key qualifications and skills:
Minimum 10 years of experience in a journalist or analyst role. Direct experience in the renewables markets (e.g. solar, wind, biofuels) is preferred
Minimum Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent standard.
Knowledge of commodity markets is ideal, though you should have the curiosity and willingness to learn about industry trends and be able to break down complex regulatory and market issues into accurate and easily understood content.
Ability for to develop market sources and engage with industry personnel is a must.
Familiarity with existing industry contacts is a plus
Must have strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills (written and oral) and strong strategic thinking.
Experience of public speaking to small and large groups is an advantage.
