Job Description

• Provide the identified special needs pupils with behavioural support, social skills and academic as well as individual home-based support (emotional regulation, behavioural modification, social skills training) when necessary.
• Provide the school with a customised individual execution plan for the identified pupils. The plan should encompass 3 areas - Classroom behaviour, Social Skills & Academics. A weekly progress report on each pupil should also be submitted to the teacher-in-charge.
• Work with the teachers and parents to ensure effective implementation of the individual plan and social skills and routines learned.
• Create relevant and appropriate materials for each student based on their needs. Examples of materials include reward systems, routines and social stories, etc. Materials should be shared with the school before any implementation.
• Conduct ONE sharing session/workshop with the relevant school teachers and another session with the parents of the selected students. (Details to be confirmed at a later date)

Job Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Special Education/Special Needs in children
• Relevant experience in working as a shadow teacher interacting with students from 12 years and below
• Intervention skills on specific issues (crisis intervention, stress, anxiety, aggression)
• Consultation skills

Working hours

• Mondays to Fridays: 7.30am to 1.30pm, inclusive of a 30 minutes lunch break
• 180 hours in 2023 & 174 hours in 2024; the exact working schedules will be confirmed
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

• Contract Period: 03 April 2023 to 16 May 2023

(With option to extend from 29 January 2024 to 08 March 2024)

• This is an outsource role
