Job Description

• Position : Shipping Operations Assistant/ Executive (MUST BE in Commodities Trading) - Dry Bulk/ Wet Cargo
• Location : Raffles Place
• Working hours : 5 Days/ Office hours
• Salary (commensurate with experience) : Up to $5500 + GOOD Variable Performance Bonus + 18 days Annual leave
• Duration : Perm

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for a full spectrum of shipping operations and documentation in commodities trading;
• Handle shipment coordination with suppliers, buyers, ship-brokers, ship owners/agents, surveyors, insurance companies, etc., to ensure smooth loading and delivery;
• Handle full set of shipping documents including liaison with banks on letters of credit negotiations and collection documentation;
• Ensure coverage of marine cargo insurances & charterer\'s liabilities for all shipments.
• Follow up on shipping claims and demurrages.
• Maintaining working relationships with the internal / external shipping departments of shippers, receivers and shipbrokers
• Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements:

• Supply Chain Logistics Diploma
• NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/ FULL TRAINING PROVIDED if you are non-experienced and keen learn for Entry level salary
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience, preferably from a commodity trading environment or bills department in a bank
• Familiar with dry bulk shipping, international trade and shipping operations
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese clients who can converse in Mandarin only.
