Job Description


Anixter’s Global Supply Chain Solutions team is looking for a Project Specialist/Coordinator with a strong background in Audio/Visual (AV) systems and solutions. This candidate must be available for multiple, weekly meetings internally and externally. The Project Specialist/Coordinator will oversee and collaborate between team(s) comprising of internal, client, and third-party vendor(s) partner team members. Responsibilities include project governance, oversight, scope, economics and resourcing across multiple projects and work streams. Responsibilities:

  • Utilize established PROJECT MANAGEMENT BEST PRACTICES to oversee steady state operations to ensure compliance to specified contract, scope, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Define and Manage assigned Projects to ensure agreed upon project requirements are defined, measured and completed
  • Initiate corrective action plans where required based upon service level failures (Internal or Customer related)
  • Manage any required "CHANGE" requests internally and externally to determine impact to the "triple constraints" (Cost, Schedule and Scope)
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility with the project resources
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using KPIs, appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Assist in managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Coordinate and share project documentation via PM tools such as SharePoint with organized file structure.
  • Coordinate with Regional Project Managers to unify processes and strategies globally.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent required. Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification and/ or Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Proven working experience in project management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
