Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day operations on roadworks sites, ensuring smooth project delivery.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, plant operators, and site workers.
Monitor work progress and ensure alignment with project plans, specifications, and timelines.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations at all times.
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Liaise with clients, local authorities, engineers, and utility companies as needed.
Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and material deliveries.
Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
Assist in the preparation and review of construction programmes and schedules.
Ensure compliance with local highway regulations and permit conditions.
Track and report on variations, delays, and other contractual issues.
Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain quality control.
Support handover and as-built documentation for final project closeout.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor on roadworks or highways projects.
Strong technical understanding of road construction processes (e.g., excavation, drainage, surfacing, kerbing).
Excellent organisational and leadership skills to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management/documentation tools (e.g., Excel, Word, MS Project).
Knowledge of CDM Regulations and current HSE practices.
