The candidate will be a member of the IT Service Management team. The IT SRE Engineer is responsible for the adoption of SRE across the organization. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the continuous improvement and management of the quality of the IT services delivered to meet the business expectations. The candidate is the primary stakeholder in all the SRE initiative across APAC.

YOUR CHALLENGE

KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

The following are the core areas of focus for this role:

  • Develop the monitoring solutions on top of existing observability platforms
  • Drive product reliability improvements through monitoring, alerting, and application of software development best practices
  • Identify opportunity to develop self-healing mechanism to mitigate operation impact
  • Drive service improvement initiatives on IT application delivery across APAC, identify operational gaps and drive apply SRE principles to achieve operation efficiency
  • Lead SRE and QA efforts across Asia Pacific to deliver solutions aligning to priority and bank\'s strategy
  • Provide capacity management expertise to ensure our deployments are managed for robustness and cost
  • Progressively adopt proactive SRE strategies like Chaos Engineering, and Synthetic Monitoring
  • Support SRE APAC lead in engaging key stakeholders and push for SRE adoption
SRE Engineer
  • Be a team player - able to build up team culture and work closely with teammates
  • Setting SLA, SLO and SLI for multiple applications
  • Partner with application developers and architects to ensure our services are built for scale and performance
  • Maintain open communication with Engineering and Product teams around system performance and reliability
  • Write, review, and execute test plans/strategies for validating product/system performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Identify creative ways to break the products, uncover and report defects, as well as validate systems/solutions are operating as intended
  • Engage in the refinement of the development, build and deployment processes
  • Serve as a quality and reliability ambassador as part of ITSM team
  • Adopting the SRE principles of incident responds and detections, driving faster incident turnaround time, achieving better users\xe2\x80\x99 satisfaction
  • Bring best practices and own environment management, ensuring all dev/test/prod environments are reproducible with high availability
Regulatory Responsibilities &/or Risk Management
  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Identifies and monitors operational risks of an IT-Operation Service according to Risk Management

YOUR PROFILE

Personal and Social
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Conscientious in ensuring defined SLAs are met
  • Ability to interact and coordinate with business users within a financial institution
  • Strong relationship management and conflict resolution skills
  • Good eye for details
Professional and Technical
  • Candidates must have least 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Production support in a banking environment
  • Candidates must have exposure to technical requirements analysis, planning, configuration management, and hands-on technical skills
  • Good knowledge of IT monitoring solutions in banking domain is necessary. Familiarity of the financial industry is required and understanding of Private Banking would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of MAS TRM guidelines
  • Knowledge of observability tools including but not limited to Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Tivoli etc.
  • Knowledge of tickets tools like HPSM, ServiceNow
  • Ability to analyse problems, provide short term, and long-term solutions
  • Knowledge of SRE methodology for incident respond, application observability implementation
