Senior MF DB2 System DBA for central team

Job Responsibilities:

To perform implementation, operation as well as maintenance for MF Database

Description:

we are looking for Mainframe z/OS DB2 System Programmer who will be responsible for handling DB2 on z/OS and related software products. The responsibility includes ordering, installation, distribution, upgrading, customization, designing and recommending solutions, performing problem root cause analysis, troubleshooting, solving issues, database tuning, customer support, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mainframe database software upgrades coupled with administration and tuning to support DB2 environments.
• Establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to database management, Disaster recovery, security, maintenance and utilization.
• Evaluating new versions of DB2 for functionality that can improve systems performance and reduce cost.
• Perform performance data collection, analysis, and tuning of DB2 systems.
• Implements project and internal initiative responsibilities as assigned or delegated.
• Participate in incident and problem management activities related to application and DB2.
• Perform problem diagnostics and resolution as well as change management.
• Collaborate with other team members within same Information Technology (IT) departments, functional users and vendors to provide guidance and supervise project implementation.
• Provide 24*7 on-call support Mainframe Infrastructure.
• Develop and maintains operational documentation, best practices, and run books for the operational platform.
• Implement tools and procedures required to maintain a very stable environment.

• Have 5+ years of experience of installing and customizing software products Mainframe DB2 and data replication product suite.
• Experience working with large systems in SysPlex environment.
• Experience in DB2 System Programmer/Database Administration.
• Knowledge of installing & tuning monitoring tools, e.g. Omegamon, CA Main view.
• Providing support with various backup/recovery scenarios for DR.
• Experience in support and deployment with DB2 z/OS database.
• Experience in handling Q-rep and CDC Replication.
• Experience in handling backup, RUNSTATS and REORG and other db2 Utilities.
• Monitor mainframe system health and performance and resolve any system issues and usage issues.
• Handle DBA Change requests, through the Change Management process
• Experience with IBM, CA, BMC products.
• Knowledge in Rexx.
• z/OS system programming knowledge.
• Knowledge of SMP/E and proven experience of mainframe software upgrades.
• Able to work both as individual and as a team member with other subject matter experts and infrastructure DBAs.
• A high level of personal initiative is a must to assist us improve and optimize the solutions
