Job Description


:

Casework \xe2\x80\x93 Engagement & Assessment

\xc2\xb7 Engage client and significant others (e.g. family, caregivers, etc.) in a therapeutic manner to understand their needs

\xc2\xb7 Manage and overcome reluctance and resistance to change

Casework \xe2\x80\x93 Case Review & Documentations

\xc2\xb7 Implement and follow up on care/ case plans and interventions to determine the suitability of care/ case plans in addressing client\xe2\x80\x99s needs and modify them where necessary

\xc2\xb7 Draft social reports for complex cases to be reviewed by supervisor

Casework \xe2\x80\x93 Goal Setting & Intervention Plans

\xc2\xb7 Conceptualise and identify appropriate approaches to develop care/ case plan for client

\xc2\xb7 Help clients to develop and choose strategies and formulate viable plans

\xc2\xb7 Represent case in case conference

Group Work

\xc2\xb7 Target and reach out to individuals and/ or targeted groups who may benefit from group work conducted by organisations/ agencies

\xc2\xb7 Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and modify therapeutic group work to address issues of target groups

\xc2\xb7 Facilitate high risk therapeutic group work under supervision

Community Work

\xc2\xb7 Conduct environmental scans and assess community needs

\xc2\xb7 Design, develop and implement community-specific development programmes (e.g. aging community in a specific neighbourhood)

\xc2\xb7 Participate in community development initiatives and provide recommendations for consideration

Professional Development & Education

\xc2\xb7 Engage in learning opportunities (e.g. participate in community of practice meetings to develop skills and capabilities)

\xc2\xb7 Attend professional development courses to acquire professional knowledge and skills

\xc2\xb7 Supervise interns and/ or students on placement (only if offered as Senior)

\xc2\xb7 Guide fresh/ junior social workers (only if offered as Senior)

Programme Development & Implementation

\xc2\xb7 Participate/ implement programmes (e.g. strengthening activities appropriate to clients\xe2\x80\x99 profile)

\xc2\xb7 Review and refine programmes to target client groups or other stakeholders/ partners/ agencies

\xc2\xb7 Identify service gaps in response to client needs and make recommendations to improve service provision of programmes

Research

\xc2\xb7 Participate and support research

\xc2\xb7 Engage in multi-disciplinary team research projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree majoring in Psychology, Counselling or Social Work from universities recognised by the Social Work Accreditation and Advisory Board (SWAAB) of Singapore
  • Mature, independent, creative, flexible thinking and able to motivate staff
  • Good people skills
  • Has strong understanding of the diverse cultures and race
  • Has patience, love, passion and commitment in the family services
