The Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation is looking for a Social Worker to join in our organization's mission to provide support to patients with blood cancers towards achieving a cure.


You will play an important role in initiatives that will enhance the delivery of our charity's services to patients. Most importantly, you will play a key role in creating for patients a safe, supportive space where hope, resilience and connection can grow. This position will also draw on the candidate's potential towards acquiring broader and deeper skillsets.


Job description



As a Social Worker, you will walk alongside individuals and families affected by blood cancer, offering emotional, practical, and psychosocial support at every stage of their journey. You will provide one-to-one counselling, lead support groups and help connect patients and caregivers with resources that ease their challenges. Working closely with healthcare professionals and community partners, you will advocate for patients' needs and ensure holistic care.


1. Direct Support to Patients and Families



Provide one-to-one psychosocial support, counselling and guidance to patients and caregivers. Assess financial and practical needs and co-create care/support plans. Support patients and families in coping with diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and end-of-life care. Facilitate support groups for workshops, outings and peer-support activities.

2. Advocacy and Resource Navigation



Assist patients and families in accessing financial assistance schemes, medical subsidies and community resources. Advocate on behalf of patients and caregivers in healthcare, employment and social settings. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local healthcare and social service systems.

3. Program and Service Delivery



Contribute to the design and delivery of psychosocial programs for patients and caregivers. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, volunteers, and partner agencies to ensure holistic care. Participate in outreach activities, awareness campaigns and educational events.

4. Professional Practice and Reporting



Maintain timely reports on casework, ensure accurate and confidential case records in line Uphold ethical standards and professional boundaries in all interactions. Provide input on service improvement and development based on client needs. Prepare and participate in team meetings, supervision and professional development opportunities.

Key Requirements



Minimum 3 years' experience as social worker. Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Graduate Diploma in Social Work or Masters in Counselling (or recognised equivalent). Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant social work body. Experience in healthcare, oncology, or palliative care settings preferred. Strong communication, counselling, and case management skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Compassion, resilience, and commitment to supporting people affected by blood cancer.
