There are many software and hardware components that need to synchronize efficiently to function as a system. Constraints like hard real time and distributed systems design are also required to be fulfiled. As a robotics drive technology expert, you will be responsible for the development of an EtherCAT based field bus system for a range of products with focus on scalable design, performance and certifications. Key responsibilities & duties: 1. Integrating low-level joint controllers with communication and software frameworks 2. Design and develop in a modular way the drive concept for motor control technology 3. Implement the infrastructure for drive control in a hard realtime environment 4. Working closely with electronics and mechatronics development team Academic & trades qualifications: Bachelor/Master/Phd (or comparable practical experience) in Computer Science, engineering, or related field. Work experience & skills: 1. Experience in motion control and servo systems (motor, encoder, servo drive) 2. Knowledge of basic Motion Control Theory: Open/Closed Loop, PID and tuning methods 3. Practical experience in industrial bus systems like EtherCAT or similar 4. Experience with CANOpen DS 402 profile 5. Excellent programming knowledge in C/C++ in hard real time context 6. Experience with ROS1/2 and ROS Control stack 7. Experience in functional safety 8. Ability to learn quickly and work independently 9. Ability to work in English in an international environment as part of an agile team
