Thales Singapore Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions.

As a multi-disciplinary Software Engineer, you will participate in the design, implementation, validation and deployment of the smartcard operating systems and applications embedded within electronic identity documents such as ePassports, eID, and healthcare documents.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer (Embedded):

• Develop, validate, and deploy new software components (e.g., advanced software security mechanisms, biometric authentication and signature, hardware abstraction layer for new target chips) for embedded operating systems and applications.
• Implement state-of-the-art cryptographic protocols and security counter-measures, and contribute to product security certifications (Common Criteria, FIPS)
• Perform maintenance on products, in-house, and third-party tools whenever required.
• Protect the company's IP and propose patents
• Contribute to continuous product and development methodology improvement
• Work within a project team with an agile approach to software development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• 0 to 5 years of relevant experience. If this is your professional experience, internship experience within embedded software development area is preferred.
• Proficient in C and embedded technologies/ecosystem.
• Knowledge on Java programming languages, Assembly/VB.Net, software security or JavaCard is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in compilers, simulators/ emulators is a plus.
• Autonomous and rigorous with good communication and collaborative skills.
