As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Markets (Macro) Technology Team, you will be part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation Applies technical troubleshooting to breakdown solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, computer Science or equivalent Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience and mid-level proficiency in software development using Python Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with working knowledge of Linux (or similar) infrastructure Possess good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a global team Demonstrates qualities of a self-starter and willing to work in a dynamic environment with constantly evolving priorities Experience in building out observability to continuously understand the health of systems, using Open Telemetry and tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch and Splunk Possess ability to analyzing complex systems - failure analysis / root cause analysis, developing, improving, and maintaining technical engineering documentation

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

Familiarity with modern front end technologies Exposure with public cloud platforms (preferred AWS), infrastructure provisioning, software configuration and implementation Experience in ReactJS development is preferred
