Thales today employs over 2,100 people in Singapore across all its business areas.Thales Singapore Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions.The Innovation Labs team is responsible for exploring new technology areas and related opportunities, proposing new ideas and translating new ideas all the way to production.Responsibilities:In this role, the Software Engineer Intern is responsible for prototyping proof of concept (POC) of new ideas and implementation of overall solution, in line with the best practices so that the POC prototypes can be productised easily.The Intern will be working in Biometrics and Machine Learning, developing in-house applications, evaluate and supporting Data scientists in managing the dataset.The Intern must be able to work with an agile team located at different geographical location.Requirements:Degree in Computer Science or equivalentStrong proficiency in C/C++/Python developmentFast learner and strong adaptorHave innovative and creative mindsetGood working knowledge of tools such as Git/Mercurial, and Jenkins/HudsonUnit/function/system testing experience (e.g. Junit, CppUnit, etc.)Experience with agile methodology is preferredGood communication skills and fluent in EnglishAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
