Sim Host Engineer

The Simulation Host typically provides simulation of the aircraft cockpit that a pilot will sit in and control, and what the pilot will see and hear, based on his operations within the cockpit. We are looking for someone to join us as a Software Engineer, to co-build solutions together with our Simulation Host team members. These solutions will contribute to our state-of-the-art Air Simulator project's delivery to our end users.

What this role entails:

• Design and modelling of aircraft mechanical systems and avionics for use in pilot training
• Developing software models that incorporate mock-up aircraft cockpit switches and indicators, mechanisation logic, aircraft states, displays to the pilot, and the 3D-rendering engine
• Reviewing of aircraft and pilot manuals, and engaging in discussions with aircrew, to ensure that the aircraft simulation is realistic, and of a high fidelity
• There may be required visits to a hangar or aircraft lab, to understand how various avionics function
• Overseas travel for training, meetings or deployment is expected
• Adopting the various software development tools and software frameworks that the company project team uses
• Generating engineering documentation within the team, to document the various requirements, design, and test areas to be developed

What this role will require:

• A willingness to learn and develop software in C++, and learning good programming practices and techniques over time, to ensure efficient performance in a 60-fps simulation/game environment.
• A willingness to learn and be proficient in Windows and Linux
• While company-sponsored training courses and guidance will be provided, independent learning and being a team player is required, to fit into the team's culture
• Being comfortable to engage and communicate with end users, customers will be a plus
• A good knowledge or practical experience in C++ will be a plus
• Prior knowledge, or a keen interest in learning about how an aircraft works and is operated will be a plus
• This role is open to fresh graduates in Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Game Design/Development, or any related course of study; prior relevant experience is required for a Senior Software Engineer role
