Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Operations Lead to manage operational readiness and production support for enterprise system modernisation initiatives. This role requires strong expertise in COBOL and Java-based applications, a solid understanding of AWS cloud services, and proven experience in ITIL-aligned support processes. The ideal candidate will lead transition, operations, and continuous improvement activities to ensure smooth cutovers and long-term stability of modernised applications.
Key Responsibilities
Manage transition,cutover, and support readiness for modernised applications. Define and improve monitoring, alerting, and escalation processes. Collaborate with teams to resolve production issues and ensure high availability. Oversee knowledge transfer and service handover to maintenance teams. Ensure compliance with security, audit, and ITIL standards. Establish SLAs/OLAs and manage service performance. Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Prepare service reports and lead maintenance review meetings.
Requirements
Proven experience in
application operations and production support
. Hands-on expertise withCOBOL and Java applications
. Strong knowledge ofAWS services
and monitoring tools. Familiarity withITIL processes
(incident, problem, change). * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
