The Lab investigates the application of new technologies to LSEG financial products and services. Technologies we are investigating or actively using include financial NLP, machine learning and graph databases. The team itself is multi-disciplinary, comprising specialists in financial research, data science, software engineering and design. Product or Service Labs are involved in a large range of projects leveraging a multitude of different technologies so a successful candidate is unlikely to be assigned to a single product or service. Information about specific projects would be discussed in the course of the interview process. As a part of our growing Singapore Lab team of data scientists, engineers and UX/UI designers you will be part of our network of like-minded colleagues across Singapore and London. Labs projects have recently included analytics based on equity sentiment, FX events, trading transaction costs and building a Custom Financial Language Model. Where possible, we utilise cloud technologies to deliver scalable solutions such as serverless data pipelines or real-time event streaming platforms. Experience and Qualifications Required Available to participate in a minimum 3 months internship Comfortable with either backend and frontend software development languages and frameworks Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure, containerisation and defining infrastructure as code is an advantage An added benefit would be familiarity with methodologies to scale and parallelise infrastructure, applications and data processing pipelines Graduate student in a related technical field, such as computer science, statistics, finance, applied mathematics, physics, or a related discipline is preferred Undergraduates who have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate education can also apply Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Python Javascript SQL Docker Terraform / Ansible / CloudFormation (or similar technology) Git Linux administration Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) At LSEG, we believe that creating a diverse and inclusive organisation is fundamental to the way we deliver on our promise of creating essential partnerships and open opportunities.
