We are committed to achieving continued excellence.Job ScopeThe Software Engineering and Development Intern (IT Department) will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of backend technologies within our company.We are looking for a university intern for a 3-5+ month project-based role as a Software Engineering Intern (IT Department) starting in 2025. He/ She shall support backend development with a focus on secure APIs, third-party integrations, dashboards, and database management. This internship offers hands-on experience in enterprise-grade software development, working with the IT team, Data Analysts, Business Development, and Senior Management to deliver scalable technology solutions.The candidate can be expected to:

• Develop full-stack software applications, design secure APIs, integrate third-party services, and optimize system performance using technologies like Python, React.js, SQL and Power BI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing software engineering support and gaining insights through a multidisciplinary approach.
• Review the SQL database and be familiarized with the ETL (Extract, Transform Load) process.
• Continuous monitoring (CI/CD) process on the live server after API is successfully implemented.
• Contribute to the companys core team in implementing a large-scale digital workflow system.
• Build domain knowledge within the process industry while supporting the IT team in researching on key focus areas such as productivity improvements, mechanization, data capture, and machine learning.

The company strongly encourages candidates to have strong background knowledge and experience in API development and Microsoft Power BI.QualificationsCandidate must be an undergraduate student in the following discipline: Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related fields, with a strong background in AI, data science, and programming, and in good academic standing.Skills required in this Internship include but are not limited to the following:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
• Possess good knowledge in Microsoft Power BI
• Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Possess good communication skills and the willingness to learn

Note: Candidates are reminded that the internship program is located mainly at HQ (Tradehub 21) however it may be necessary to go on site (Jurong Island) when required.
