The Solar Panel Worker is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops or other structures. The role involves ensuring the systems are safely connected and operate efficiently to generate solar power.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and mount solar panels on rooftops, ground mounts, or other structures.
Assemble and wire solar modules, panels, and support structures.
Connect electrical wiring to inverters and batteries.
Perform testing and troubleshooting of solar systems to ensure proper function.
Conduct regular maintenance, inspection, and cleaning of panels.
Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Work with electricians and engineers during installation and commissioning.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools.
Physically fit and comfortable working at heights or outdoors.
Ability to read and understand technical diagrams.
Certificate or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy field (preferred).
Previous experience in solar installation or electrical work is an advantage.
