- Solution Architect

The Solution Architect is a senior member of the System Integration business function in ST Engineering iDirect, responsible for leading the Solutions and System Engineering team to implement Satellite Communications (SATCOM) ground infrastructure solutions. He / She shall be responsible for the design and implementation of turn-key SATCOM projects, including Gateways and Terminals, and lead the technical team in supporting pre-sales activities such as tender preparation, system design and proposal preparation. During project execution, broad-based system expertise and technical oversight is expected. The Solution Architect shall oversee a broad range of products and solutions and continuously seek to understand and incorporate new technologies and products to support business growth.

Primary Responsibilities/ Key Result Areas:

• Support pre-sales activities such as technical requirements gathering, including tender support working closely with Bid Managers to address enquiries from the global sales organisation
• In projects execution, to work with Project Managers to manage resources, scope, schedule and implementation issues; and communicates with customers and key stakeholders
• Work closely with the Product Management teams and strategic partners to incorporate products into our solutions
• Strong technical competency and system-level experience to ensure completeness of solutions, and that systems are delivered professionally.
• Manage and provide guidance to a team of solutions and system engineers, providing effective communication and updates to management
• Evaluate and recommend new products and technologies to be incorporated to solutions
• Reviews technical proposals, system diagrams, documentations and test plans

• Excellent system-level competencies in RF Engineering and/or baseband/network domain, preferably in the SATCOM industry
• Excellent writing and presentation skills, and produces meticulous work
• Effective leadership, people management and communication skills
• Strong sense of ownership, with passion to drive for results
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment with speed and focus

• BS in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or, equivalent
• Have at least 8 years of experience in System Engineering Design for satellite communication, not limited to network performance analysis, link budget analysis, gateway architecture, remote terminals design
• Experienced in operating RF, Antennas, WAN/LAN equipment as well as test instruments
• Experienced in on-site deployments of SATCOM Gateways, terminals and troubleshooting
