The Position

The Solution Architect Workplace & Collaboration is responsible for designing and delivering modern, secure, and user-centric workplace and collaboration solutions, with Microsoft 365 and the broader Microsoft ecosystem as the core platform. This role defines architectural standards and designs that enable productivity, seamless communication, and digital employee experiences. The architect ensures alignment between business needs, end-user requirements, and the capabilities, driving adoption and continuous improvement.

Major Responsibilities

Platform and Solution Design and Strategy



Develop and maintain the organization's workplace and collaboration architecture and solution design, ensuring support for current and future business needs. Define platform standards, best practices, and guidelines for workplace and collaboration tools. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective workplace and collaboration solutions. Create detailed solution designs, considering architecture principles, scalability, security, and performance.

Technology Evaluation



Stay updated with emerging workplace and collaboration technologies and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools that enhance workplace and collaboration solution effectiveness.

Technical Leadership



Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that technical designs align with established architecture standards for workplace and collaboration solutions.

Integration and Compatibility



Ensure that workplace and collaboration solutions integrate seamlessly with existing systems and applications. Verify the compatibility of proposed solutions with hardware, software, and network environments.

Security and Compliance



Incorporate security best practices into workplace and collaboration solution designs. Ensure compliance with data protection and regulatory requirements.

Documentation and Communication



Document technical designs, architecture decisions, and implementation guidelines for workplace and collaboration solutions. Communicate solution designs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Quality Assurance



Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define testing strategies and validate workplace and collaboration solution functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise during implementation.

Technical Direction and Coordination



Help define the technical direction for workplace and collaboration solutions and coordinate across product teams to ensure that every team has defined architecture patterns.

Requirements Transformation



Transform requirements into specific workplace and collaboration solution architecture design documents.

Architectural Governance



Govern the technical design against approved architectural standards and make final decisions on any technology changes or exceptions to architectural standards.

Business Alignment and Integration



Understand business processes and requirements, ensuring the workplace and collaboration platform aligns with business goals. Integrate various business functions into a cohesive workplace and collaboration system.

Scalability, Reliability, and Adaptability



Ensure that the workplace and collaboration platform is scalable, reliable, and adaptable to changing business needs, while maintaining data integrity and security. Work closely with stakeholders across different departments to facilitate smooth system deployment and continuous improvement.

Number of workplace and collaboration solution designs delivered within project timelines.

Alignment of workplace and collaboration solutions with business objectives. Scalability and capacity of workplace and collaboration solutions to serve future business needs. Effectiveness of technical leadership and guidance. Feedback from cross-functional teams on quality and performance of workplace and collaboration solutions designed.

Qualifications


------------------

Education/Training Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Relevant certifications in solution architecture. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Microsoft 365 certifications (MS-100, MS-700, MS-102) highly desirable. TOGAF, ITIL, or Agile certifications preferred.

Experience:



5-8 years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on workplace and collaboration technologies. Proven experience designing and deploying Microsoft 365-based environments. * Strong background in user experience, IT service management, and change management within a digital workplace context.
