[What the role is]

This is a contract position till 31 December 2025 as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Counsellor in the Student & Alumni Services Office. [What you will be working on] As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Counsellor, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Work with staff, students, parents, external professionals and community agencies to develop and implement care and support plan
• Work closely with MOE, schools and stakeholders to provide transition support to students
• Partner with schools and external agencies on engagement, case referrals and consultations
• Provide counselling to students with SEN on their learning, social, emotional and financial needs
• Proper documentation of case consultation records and data management of SEN support
• Organize and manage SEN and pastoral care projects/training for the Polytechnic\xe2\x80\x99s Community
• Promote SEN awareness and inclusive education on campus
• Manage and administer MOE SEN Funding
• Work closely with Education & Career Coaches (ECC) and schools to provide ECC support to students.

[What we are looking for]

• Relevant tertiary qualification with postgraduate training in Special Educational Needs
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in either SEN, education, counselling, social work or work involving youths

Additional pre-requisites that are advantageous

• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
• Good interpersonal, organizational, administrative and communications skills
• IT savvy and proficient in using the application software
• Being resourceful and creative
• Prior experience in an education institution
