About the role

Within Rio Tinto Commercial, the B&A (Bauxite & Alumina) Commercial unit is a key part of Aluminum Commercial with accountability for sales of 11 million MT of alumina per annum and 55 million MT of bauxite. In addition, the B&A Commercial team is accountable for the sales of aluminum hydrate (hydrate), other high-value non-metallurgical alumina, and by-products.


We are seeking a dynamic and analytical

S&OP (Sales and Operational Planning) and Supply Chain Specialist

with a strong passion for analytics and digital transformation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of operations and technology, and who is eager to drive innovation and analytics across supply chain planning, forecasting, and execution.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, S&OP and Supply Chain (B&A) you will:

Lead and support S&OP processes, ensuring alignment between Production, Sales, and financial plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Scheduling, Mine Operations, Pacific Operations, Finance, Marine Ops, Chartering) to ensure smooth execution and track compliance with short-term plans and focus on business value. Monitor key supply chain KPIs and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights. Drive medium-term (2-24 months) decision-making processes with structured trade-off measurements. Identify and implement digitalisation initiatives to enhance supply chain visibility, agility, and efficiency. Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, automation tools, and digital platforms (e.g., Anaplan, PowerBI, SAP, Modern ERP, Copilot). Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in supply chain and digital transformation. Collaborate closely with the RTA Atlantic and AoE (Area of Excellence) teams to share best practices and improve the RT S&OP processes.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

Strong drive and values aligned with those of Rio Tinto: care, courage, and curiosity. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field. At least 4 years of experience in supply chain planning, S&OP, or a related field. A demonstrated delivery of digital transformation projects within the supply chain or operations to achieve business objectives. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and planning tools (e.g., Kinaxis, OMP, Anaplan) is highly desirable. A passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Where you will be working

Headquartered in Singapore, and integrated with Rio Tinto's assets, hubs, and offices globally, our Commercial group works hand-in-hand with our product groups to ensure both the amount and types of products we produce meet our customers' needs, and manage the trade-off between volumes, quality, cost, and capital expenditure.
