SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER (PART-TIME)

We're currently looking for Candidates available in the advertised location

.

We have a vacancy for a Special Education Teacher to plan, prepare and implement teaching plans (including literacy & numeracy) for children with moderate to severe special needs. Hours are fixed at 20 hours per week. This is not a full-time job.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years experience as a SPED Teacher is required. Preschool teachers with a strong interest to work with children with special needs are welcome to apply;

Diploma in Special Education or equivalent preferred;

Experience writing Individual Education Plans (IEP);

Experience using a curriculum is an advantage;

Team player, good communication and interpersonal skills;

Dedicated, patient and understanding when working with children with special needs;

Willingness to learn

Responsibilities

Develop and implement IEPs for each pupil and track progress accordingly;

To plan and teach meaningful lessons;

Prepare and use a varied choice of appropriate teaching and instructional aids to cater to the different levels of learning abilities in the children;

Administer assessment tools to gauge ability levels;

Write progress reports;

Participate in parent-teacher meetings;

Organise activities for events or outings

Employment Type

Fixed hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,800.00 per month

Expected hours: 20 per week
