Local Unit & Position Description:
Singapore Approval Centre, is responsible for classification services for mobile offshore units, Offshore support vessels, and related equipment certification within Asia and beyond. The section, which consists of Structure and System Approval experts, now seeks a Sr Structure engineer.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Design review of engineering documents related to structure of mobile offshore units ( Ship shaped, Semi-sub, self-elevating type) and offshore support vessel, to verify compliance with applicable Rules, Standards and other contractual requirements.
• Independent design verification, including hydrodynamic analysis and finite element analysis for the strength, buckling and fatigue capacity of mobile offshore unit structure.
• Technical support to Surveyors and business development team.

Position Qualifications:

• Degree in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering.
• Mobile offshore unit structure design / plan approval experience with a reputed designer / shipyard / classification society.
• Min 5 years of working experience
• Experience of hydrodynamic analysis and/or finite element analysis for the strength, buckling and fatigue capacity of offshore or ship structure is preferred.
• Experience of using DNV Sesam and Nauticus Hull software is preferred.
• Able to carry out technical discussions with our esteemed clients towards improvement in design.
• Good knowledge of DNV or other class society offshore Rules.
• Be service minded.
• Able to work independently and collaborate well with highly competent and experienced team.
• Excellent communication skills and ‘can do’ attitude.
• Project management skills
