JOB TITLE: SR. BUSINESS MANAGER, PP ROA

JOB PURPOSE

Working closely with PP ROA Leader in creating and executing the strategic plan for ROA PP in short & long term on markets, products and to execute it with objectives growing the market and maximizing the profitability for one of PP assets and its related business in Rest of Asia, inclusive global deployment. Responsible to manage Asset operation with priority focus and deployment globally inclusive steering all supporting functions to optimize the business operating model with full compliance and collaborate with product stewardship to achieve BU strategy focus and priorities. This will be achieved through ongoing business and non-business (such as product innovation and delivery cost optimization) initiatives and drive to maximize revenue and minimize cost in order to maximize bottom-line return.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Market Strategy Creates, owns and drives execution of the go-to-market strategic 5-year plan for each market in region leveraging an in-depth understanding of the market supported by multidisciplinary business processes & functions. Engages external parties to incorporate market trends and predictions into market strategy. A market typically defined as a particular country. Engages over 18 countries to determine target strategic customer, market focus and Long Term contractual negotiations collaborating with Sales. This position has the business ownership & assets ownership to enable the required growth and meeting all financial objectives.

  • Pricing Strategy Creates and determines the Pricing strategy per market in consultation with the PP ROA Leader. Controls the execution and alignment of the pricing strategy by setting minimum pricing. Initiates and executes strategy to drive increasing value pricing differentiation by creating innovative Pricing programs and empowering Sales team within market to drive pricing behaviors that will maximize profitability. Evaluates and makes decisions on customer pricing offers & value proposition with strong understanding of the market dynamics to ensure achieve the targeted footprint and market share in each country. Leverage trade treaties (FTAs) to optimize profitability in line with global deployment strategy.
  • Products Strategy Determines and owns Product strategy towards each market in consultation with the PP ROA Leader. Leads the multidisciplinary to improve product portfolios, Evaluate product performance, market trend and customer feedback to generate new product ideas, industry roadmap & applications, identifies product/service features that need to be change to meet customer needs, and liaises with enabling X Functions organization to implement these changes to enhance differentiation price premium and overall margin & profitability. Makes decisions on which products to start, stop, improve, kill for the region. Lead new product initiatives implementation (NPI/NPD) into each market and build business cases to identify and implement new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales and other supporting functions to determine optimal strategy per market served. Drives product placement decisions as required for a specific market to meet customer requirements in alignment with previously developed market strategy at the most optimal cost to serve.
  • Create Operational excellence controls at the execution level by collaborating with X-functional teams to ensure that each Market is executing to the prescribed strategy across Pricing, Product offering and Customer targets (including credit worthiness). Establishes operating rhythm on periodic basis to review various KPIs and system controls against set targets.
  • Key participant in steering Regional S&OP and projects to ensure continuous improvement in performance and profitability. Achieves operational excellence through reliable forecasting and good demand planning. Managing business risk exposure on credit and AD by constantly review customer\'s credit standing, payment terms, pricing strategy in the region. Ensure compliance to corporate policies as well as drive SABIC values.
  • Identifies investment opportunities in asset that will support growth projects and pre-marketing activities. Work with Growth Project Leaders to increase probability of realization of new assets in region.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • University degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; Master degree in Marketing or MBA
  • 10 -15 years proven track record of successful business experience in the petrochemical or in a similar industrial environment
  • Broad experience in the relationship between sales, development, supply chain and manufacturing working in different organizations with different systems & policies
  • Strong Financial background & knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills and strong strategic planning skills.
