Job Description


This role is a Regional Category / Agile Leader supporting Professional Education, Marketing Operations and Sales & Distributor Services for APAC Procurement for the MedTech business. This Category / Agile Leader may also support other MedTech Marketing Procurement categories as needed.

This role is accountable for the following primary objectives:

  • Partner with key business stakeholders, category leaders and local agile leaders to develop, implement, own, and track category strategies, sourcing engagements, supplier relationship management plans, and category priorities relevant to the MedTech business.
  • Lead execution of the regional Professional Education, Marketing Operations and Sales & Distributor Services categories and projects, and other categories when required.
The role\'s scope of responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing critical category strategies in joint collaboration & alignment with global category leaders to support business objectives. Identifying, developing, and directing the implementation of procurement goals and category strategies based upon deep subject matter expertise, while understanding industry and marketplace dynamics.
  • Identifying business requirements and partnering with key business partners, cluster engagement leaders, and category experts to deliver value, improvements, innovations, and savings.
  • Developing deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include performance management, co-innovation, and improvement of end-to-end value.
  • Determine the MedTech business procurement priorities and partnering with cluster engagement leaders to devise strategies and projects that advance those priorities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to ensure Procurement processes (such as RFx) for regional projects meet the business needs, and are adopted within the business.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations for owned categories supporting the MedTech business and provide recommendations to MedTech business leaders.
  • Establish and deliver against performance targets for the MedTech Procurement organization in the role\'s areas of responsibility, and ensure target achievement.Required Years of Related Experience: Min 7 years

  • Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus (category management, supplier management, spend management, business engagement, contracting )
  • Ability to prioritize requests and propose effective alternatives
  • Strong project and change management capabilities
  • Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and the people around you
  • High level of credibility with internal customers and the external vendor community
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Minimum Education: Bachelors or Equivalent
Preferred Area of Study: BS/BA in an applicable field of study; advanced degree is preferred, MBA a plus
Preferred Related Industry Experience (if applicable): Life Sciences, MedTechnology, FMCG
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
