Introduction:
GlobalFoundries is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Member of Staff - Product Yield Engineer to lead yield improvement initiatives across advanced semiconductor technologies. This role is critical in driving yield enhancement strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers to ensure robust product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Job Requirement
Lead yield improvement programs for advanced technology nodes, focusing on root cause analysis and resolution of yield-limiting defects
Provide technical leadership in defining yield KPIs and aligning them with business goals, program/project manager and customer
Drive and collaborate with process integration, device engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to identify and mitigate yield detractors for yield improvement
Develop and implement data-driven methodologies for yield analysis, including statistical process control (SPC), failure analysis, and defect density reduction
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. 8D, FMEA, FA methodology, ...... esp. yield issues solving
Utilize advanced analytics and machine learning tools to predict and prevent yield excursions
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
Interface with customers to provide technical updates, manage yield-related concerns, and support product qualification and ramp-up.
Detailed data analysis with various statistical/data mining tools to identify low yield root cause in the shortest time frame
Skillset Needed
Strong knowledge of NVM devices/Process Integration/test methodology, to work out fail mechanism of yield issues and drive low yield issue fixing
Basic knowledge of FA technique
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Proficient in Electrical Test data & Inline Analysis
Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Python, Spotfire) and yield management systems
Is a team player and strong multi-tasking capability
Able to work in a diverse and inclusive workforce
Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics, process integration, and defect mechanisms
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and solving complex technical yield issues
Required Qualification
PhD/Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor process/yield engineering, preferably in advanced CMOS, NVM technologies.
Preferred knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), reliability engineering, and exposure to AI/ML applications in yield prediction and defect classification
