Job Description


Role Responsibilities

  • To uphold the integrity of Wealth Lending (PvB &PrB) risk/return decisions, and in particular for ensuring that risks are properly assessed (including product approvals and LTV assessment) and are controlled in accordance with the Group\'s standards and its Risk Appetite
  • To ensure the Risk Management Framework is effectively communicated and implemented across Wealth Lending (PvB & PrB) and for administering related governance and reporting processes related to Capital Markets Products & Solutions (CMPS) products.
  • To ensure that there is a robust process for assigning and monitoring LTVs across all CMPS products and implement the LTV policy in all PvB/WM locations.
  • To provide risk oversight over all CMPS product approvals, expansion of product suite and related system enhancements
  • To have risk oversight over credit related operations processes in the Wealth Lending business
Business
  • Partner with the business on strategic initiatives
  • Appraise and contribute to the development of CMPS business/product review through active participation in proceedings relevant working groups
Processes
  • Ensure oversight over processes in place in WML to maintain adherence to the LTV policy
  • Risk representative for credit related operations processes and related systems enhancement in WML.
  • Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible governance committees.
  • Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes
People & Talent
  • Uphold and reinforce the independence of the Risk function from those whose primary responsibility is to maximize short-term revenues and profits
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Conduct training sessions for Relationship Managers related to LTV methodology, systems and processes
Risk Management *
  • Assist the Head of Credit Risk Management WML & Head PMG in implementing the overall Risk Management Framework for Wealth Management
  • Assignment of standard Loan to Values (LTV) across all CMPS products (bonds, equities, structured products and derivatives). Assign non-standard LTVs after suitable risk assessment and provide input to country Wealth Lending risk teams for assignment of client specific LTVs
  • Ensure that all LTVs in Wealth Lending (PvB&PrB) have PMG oversight and are assigned and reviewed on a periodic basis
  • In coordination with the Head of Credit Risk Management WML & Head PMG, create appropriate response to material events or other risk issues that come to the CRO\'s attention
  • Provide risk input for CMPS related Product Approval documents
  • Evaluate products for distribution by CMPS across all asset classes as member of the relevant Product Approval Groups.
  • Provide risk oversight over expansion of product suite and related system enhancements for CMPS products
  • Ensure risk identification, measurement and modelling capabilities for Wealth Lending are objective, consistent, and compliant with applicable regulations
  • Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible governance committees
  • Define criteria for evaluation of providers and products for distribution by PvB and Priority businesses.
  • Act as primary point of contact for and maintain Operational Risk processes covering Wealth Lending Credit Risk
  • Group residual risk rating recommendation and approval
  • Challenge the completeness of risk control activities across Operational Risk Control Areas and identify and address any significant gaps that may exist between them
  • Maintain a good understanding of the requirements of key external stakeholders in respect of risk management and ensure these are well understood internally and reflected in internal procedures
Governance
  • Assist the Head of Credit Risk Management WML & Head PMG in implementing the overall Risk Management Framework for Wealth Management and Private Banking
  • Actively participate in applicable program steering committees and product approval groups
  • Develop standardized MIS across all locations to capture and monitor portfolio KPIs (including risk appetite metrics)
  • Manage control and governance framework through monitoring of CSTs.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 7+ years experience in the financial services industry with understanding of the dynamics of financial markets across asset classes, price movements and volatility assessment
  • Experience in FX/Derivatives risk management
  • Understanding of credit related processes and operational risk management
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work successfully with multi-cultural teams in diverse locations
  • Analytical mindset and ability to work independently
  • CFA/FRM certification will be considered an advantage
