As a Toolroom Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing stamping affairs related to the toolroom and quality. You will lead initiatives to reduce costs of poor quality (COPQ), improve equipment uptime, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive tooling improvements and new die design reviews.
Our Team
You will be part of the Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division (DSS), working closely with Die Engineering, Production, Planning, and MQA teams to ensure smooth and efficient toolroom operations.
What You Will Do
Analyze quality data to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce COPQ.
Use POEE metrics to diagnose and improve equipment downtime, collaborating with maintenance to enhance preventive maintenance and streamline changeovers.
Develop, monitor, and optimize department budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities without impacting quality.
Work closely with planners to prioritize tasks and proactively manage production schedules to meet Customer Requested Dates (CRD).
Lead tooling improvement initiatives and review new die designs with Engineering to ensure quality and manufacturability.
Maintain accountability for die assets through accurate inventory management, regular maintenance, and proper storage.
Promote and participate in safety and 5S programs, leading initiatives and training team members on best practices.
Identify team skill gaps, provide coaching and development opportunities, and motivate the team through clear goals and recognition.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Minimum 5 years of related experience in stamping die/planning.
Deep knowledge of stamping die processes and toolroom planning.
Strong analytical skills to address quality and downtime issues.
Effective communication and team leadership abilities.
What Will Put You Ahead
Over 10 years of related toolroom or stamping experience.
Proven track record of implementing tooling improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Experience in safety and 5S leadership roles.
