Company Overview

We are a Singapore-based company specializing in rebar processing and structural steel fabrication. Our production team supports major infrastructure and building projects, ensuring high-quality steel components are manufactured to precise specifications.





To support our expanding operations, we are looking for a dedicated and skilled Machinist / Production Technician to join our steel manufacturing team.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Machine Operation & Maintenance


Operate, monitor, and maintain steel wire drawing, forming, and cutting machines. Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues to ensure smooth daily production. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and basic repairs when required.
2. Quality Control & Testing


Follow established procedures to maintain product quality and consistency. Conduct inspections and tensile tests on steel fibres to ensure strength and durability. Record test data and report any deviations for corrective actions.
3. Process & Efficiency Improvement


Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Provide feedback and suggestions for equipment and process optimization.
4. Material Handling & Inventory


Handle raw materials, semi-finished, and finished steel products safely. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams on inventory levels and material movement.
5. Steel Raw Material Forming, Cutting & Packaging


Operate machines to produce items of specified shapes and sizes. Cut and package finished products according to company and client requirements. Ensure all labels and documentation are correctly prepared.
6. Safety & Compliance


Strictly follow company safety rules and operational procedures. Participate in regular safety briefings and report unsafe acts or conditions promptly.
7. Collaboration & Teamwork


Work closely with the Production Manager and fellow technicians. Share technical feedback on equipment conditions and maintenance needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education :


ITE Certificate or Diploma (Mechanical / Manufacturing / Metalwork preferred).





Experience:


Minimum 3 years in steel production, or similar heavy manufacturing environment.





Technical Skills:


Experience with rebar cutting, butt-welding, and metal forming machinery.


Knowledge of dies, lubricants (calcium/sodium-based), and wire consumables.


Basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.





Language:


Proficiency in English and Mandarin (to communicate with Chinese-speaking workers and suppliers).





Certifications (Advantageous):


MSOC (Metal Safety Orientation Course)


Forklift / Rigger / Signalman / Welding licenses
