Our client is a listed high-tech chemical company, claiming market share for most of their business verticals, including speciality chemicals, surfactants, specialty polymers, inks, and a range of application materials. They also have a solid global presence spanning across 80 countries, catering to clients from across different industries such as packaging, paper, food and agriculture, building infrastructure, and home and personal care. The company plans their business far ahead into the future based on strong foresight. As part of its growth and sustainability plans, it is imperative to place more importance on strategic marketing and product innovation for the home and personal care division. Hence, they are looking for a Strategic Product & Innovation Manager to look after the Asia Pacific region for the business.

Description

The Strategic Product & Innovation Manager will report directly to the Senior Vice President for Home and Personal Care, as well as the SVP for Emerging Markets.

This is a critical individual contributor function for the APAC business, and will be measured on the following:

• Conceptualisation and execution of a profitable marketing strategy that is applicable for the entire Asia Pacific region by the respective local teams
• Creating and sustaining a strong portfolio of innovation projects includes prioritizing and choosing new initiatives alongside their R&D counterpart and promoting the submission of new product ideas from all organizational areas
• Developing and maintaining the business case and launch plan for initiatives in the portfolio, either directly or indirectly, to support innovation efforts
• Keeping track of market, customer, and competitor developments and promptly modifying strategy initiatives
• Have an extensive knowledge of the chemical product range, as well as the business\' marketing insights and strategy
• Establish strong and sustainable relationships with business counterparts and key clients across Asia Pacific, ensuring consistent success stories of the company
• Be the key solution provider, understanding the challenges faced by the key clients, crafting and implementing marketing strategies that would meet their needs
• Engage and work alongside the sales teams, driving them to exceed their targets and penetrate into new markets, thereby sustaining and growing the business further
• Initiate new channel partners and services tailoring to changing trends and feedback, as well as exploiting new opportunities in the market

Profile

The successful candidate must have the following criteria:

• Bachelor\'s Degree / MBA / MSc in a relevant field
• Good to have an extensive knowledge and experience handling home, cleaning and/ personal care segments
• Minimum 10 years\' experience in a regional / global marketing team
• Strong passion for the Chemical Industry
• Analytical thinking, with out of the box thinking
• Flexibility to travel within APAC
