The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • The Strategy, Planning & Special Projects Manager is a permanent role that requires strong written and oral communication, strong business acumen and knowledge of the ICS field. The successful candidate will be able to meet the following expectations:
  • Support the Global Head of Assurance and Testing in all aspects of running the function including the day-to-day management of activities, cross-team integration, budget, people, strategy, and planning.
  • Support the Global Head of Assurance and Testing to deliver CISRO objectives and initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning and monitoring of progress of the Assurance and Testing team against the CISRO function strategic objectives and priority deliverables. Track risks and issues to deliverables.
  • Manage the quarterly CISRO Assurance plan refinement forum and plan updates.
  • Manage Assurance and Testing branding and communications to help uplift the profile of the team.
  • Assist in structuring and supporting key projects across the function, and thematic as required.
  • Work regularly on a cross functional basis within all levels of the Assurance and Testing team and in partnering across Risk & Compliance and other parts of the business, in particular the Group CISO function in the first line.
  • Closely monitor the development, implementation, and performance of business-critical issues to the team (e.g., new technology, investment requests, etc.)
  • Manage and execute ad hoc projects throughout that year that is required for Assurance and Testing.
Business
  • The primary purpose of this position is to provide continued, cross-disciplinary support to the CISRO Assurance and Testing team.
Processes
The major activities that the role will lead, and support are
  • Act as a representative on matters for the Head of Assurance and Testing.
  • Collaborate across CISRO and broader ICS to ensure wider CISRO/ISC related work is aligned across all related areas and is planned, tracked, and successfully fulfilled.
  • Maintain effective working relationships across the CISRO team and in key areas: Risk & Compliance, TTO and Business as necessary.
  • Establish robust tracking and governance processes for high risk and priority items.
  • Look for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the team and work with the team to improve identified areas.
  • Ensure items and actions from Assurance and Testing team meetings are tracked and followed up on in a timely manner.
People & Talent
  • Work closely with the Group CISRO BPM and Group CISRO HR Business Partner/team to coordinate people agenda Group CISRO.
  • Coordinate specific people plan projects/ initiatives for the team.
  • Assist Head of Assurance and Testing to coordinate performance reviews.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations.
  • Ensure a full set of job descriptions and objectives are in place for Assurance and Testing direct reports, including supporting the development of training plans for identified competency gaps.
  • Uphold and reinforce the independence of the second line ICS Risk function.
  • Work across Group CISRO and bank functions to ensure support for various positions and to promote opportunities by closely partnering with Risk, Compliance, Communications, and others as appropriate.
Risk Management
  • Collaborate with Assurance and Testing management to anticipate any risks and issues inside and outside of the functions that the team should be aware of.
  • Seek to identify and make Assurance and Testing aware of possible solutions.
  • Collaborate with BPMs, CISRO LT members and stakeholders to achieve this.
  • Keep track of key priority risks that are the responsibility of the Assurance and Testing team, including those related to regulatory reviews, such as project COSMOS, audit, external and internal risk meetings.
Governance
  • Establish strong ties into the relevant global, regional, and country leadership for risk, compliance, and regulatory affairs to ensure adequate monitoring, tracking and communication of key priority items.
  • Stay updated on evolving requirements and changes in policies and standards to the appropriate business, regional, and/or functional units within the Bank to ensure integration into business processes and requirements.
  • Become focal point on key processes, such as the correct way to process invoices, onboard vendors, Supply Chain Management and Statement of Works, to act as a guide to others.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ Year Knowledge of cyber security, risk management or related disciplines in the banking/financial services industry.
  • High proficiency in WoW and collaboration tools.
  • Excellent communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 oral, written and presentations.
  • Strong analytical and program management skills. Strong ability to collect and analyse data and make recommendations in written and oral form.
  • Ability to work independently as a motivated, self-starter who can multitask.
  • Experience working in a geographically dispersed organisation with a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Strong ability to liaise with all parts of the Bank, including senior security, risk, and business stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to handle a range of tasks in a fast-paced environment across multiple geographies.
