Structural Engineer, Singapore, AWS Field Services Engineering (FSE)
Key job responsibilities
As a Structural Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise in to:

• Work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals on a wide variety of conceptual design, build, and retrofit projects at existing Data Center
• Visit sites to observe site specific issues and develop structural solutions to overcome challenges.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in projects requiring structural inputs.
• Create, review and release structural design (Request for Proposals ) RFPs.
• Manage external structural design consultants through the audit, design and implementation of a variety of projects while coordinating with internal engineering, construction and other stakeholder teams.

This role is based in Singapore and is part of the APJC (Asia, Pacific, Japan, China) team, the successful candidate will lead and support projects throughout the APJC region, with particular focus in the India Region. Successful candidates may also need to travel to other APJC Availability Zones for project support to the local execution team (40% travel expected) .
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years professional experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial new design using local and/or international Codes, and with sound knowledge of structural engineering conventional practices in concrete and steel structures/details.
• Experience and familiarity with Seismic standards and non-linear analysis techniques.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally/domestically with short notice.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's or higher degree in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Civil/Structural Engineering (PE) License or local equivalent.
• Experience directly related to Data Center or mission critical facility design including a basic understanding of its MEP system.
• Experience in assessment (including seismic) and retrofitting/remediation of existing buildings and facilities.
• Experience and familiarity with engineering software based modelling, (eg, SAP2000, ETABs, Ideastatica etc).
