Job Description

We are looking for Student Liaison Officer (SLO) to reach out and engage Singaporean students studying Islamic Studies and Arabic Language in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Responsibilities:

• Upkeep a current and accurate database of Singaporean students studying Islamic Studies and Arabic Language in MENA (Egypt, Morocco, Turkey and as assigned);
• Establish and strengthen networks and relationships with Singaporean students and student bodies;
• Provide educational and religious sector career advisories, and basic counselling to students pursuing tertiary studies in Islam and Arabic Language;
• To offer and coordinate developmental programs to students in the region in helping them become future-ready asatizah;
• Assist students with their welfare and consular needs with Singapore overseas Embassies/Missions;
• Establish and nurture good contacts and networks with local and foreign educational institutions and relevant government agencies on matters pertaining to student affairs;
• Prepare reports and analysis of student affairs in the region when required;
• Expected to travel regularly within the country of posting and other countries in MENA to engage students when required;
• Return to Singapore during students\xe2\x80\x99 summer break from June to August (3 months) annually to assist in student programmes organised at Muis Headquarters (HQ);
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Muis HQ.

Requirements:

• Tertiary education in Islamic Studies and Sciences with good command of Arabic, English and Malay languages;
• strong interpersonal skills to interact and provide guidance and advisory to students, parents, government agencies etc;
• Be willing and prepared to be deployed to MENA, Egypt for six years;
• Experience in organising programmes and events;
• Experience in the religious sector;
• Experience in youth work is desirable;
• Resilient, resourceful and able to work independently and in a team.

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
