About the role

• Responsible for purchasing of materials to support production
• Release purchase orders to suppliers and ensure materials are received on time to support the production schedule.
• Work with suppliers and engineers on cost reduction program & NPI activities.
• Plan, schedule & release work orders to production based on forecast received from customers or from Supply Chain office.
• Review kits availability & resolve shortages to support production schedule.
• Liaise with supplier and logistics team to ensure on time materials supply to support production schedule.
• Highlight impact & advise possible solutions if there is material supply issue to meet customer’s order or production plan.
• Generate and publish production & constraint reports to all operations team.
• Control piece-part or finished goods inventory as desired to meet inventory goals.

Principal Accountabilities

• Maximise inventory turns by managing suppliers’ delivery and disposing excess/obsolete materials.

• Achieve cost reduction goals through price negotiation and/or alternate sourcing. Ensure compliance in production output to meet build and ship plan.
• Highlight impact to management for any potential miss of customer’s shipment & its recovery.
• Ensure no production line down due to material supply.
• Manage/track production’s output.
• Overall planning of production line to ensure timely purchasing of materials & delivery of products to customers

• Set up systems and processes around reporting/management information/escalation routes

About you

• Knowledge of SAP MRP system is a MUST.
• Very good proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Prior experience in price negotiation will be an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal, communication, analytical & planning skills. Able to work effectively under pressure & adaptable to change.
• Demonstrated ability to work proactively and to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective systems, processes and information/reporting mechanisms.
