An exciting opportunity in our Singapore office is available for an experienced, creative, and motivated Sustainability Consultant to deliver projects, grow your career and connect with the local and national team. You will be collaborating with the best in the business, undertaking technical responsibility and delivery of Building Physics and Sustainability output on projects across various sectors, including design and analysis on building physics, sustainable building design, and engineering projects.

The role includes delivering sustainable and low-energy design projects in the built environment working closely with clients to help them predict, assess and improve their sustainability performance through a collaborative and well organised approach.

The Inhabit Building Physics and Sustainability team is internationally distributed across Australia and Asia, and is location independent, enabling access to projects across Australia, Asia, Europe, Americas and the Middle East based on skillset and capabilities. We provide technical advice across all stages of the project lifecycle, from business case and advisory to sustainability and carbon strategy to detailed modelling, construction, and post-occupancy. This means that we have a focus on real-world results guided by early phase quantitative and qualitative analysis. If this interests you, we are seeking someone who:

  • Maintains workflow for existing clients while exploring client growth through proposal drafting, and contributing to case studies and other marketing material to exhibit our skill, capabilities and prestige associated with delivering challenging yet successful projects.
Typical activities for this role include:
  • Delivery of excellent outcomes for our clients on matters relating to Building Physics (thermal, condensation, daylight, glare, reflectivity, etc.), Sustainable Design (Town Planning, Green Star, Passivhaus, etc.), and Sustainability Consulting (carbon strategies, business cases, etc.)
  • Provide and/or assist with green building certification including but not limited to Green Mark, LEED and WELL, and become proficient in other rating tools as required.
  • Representing Inhabit on projects, including site meetings, design workshops, site inspections and liaising with relevant stakeholders to meet client and project requirements
  • Developing and maintain relationships with clients and project teams, such as developers, architects, main contractors, project managers, etc.
  • Managing client relationships and expectations, through effective scope control, and offering creative solutions to surpass client needs.
  • Supporting colleagues and projects across the national and international team in conducting assessments, modelling and reports of Life Cycle Assessment/ Embodied Carbon Analysis, Thermal Analysis, Reflectivity, Glare, Condensation and others as they become available
  • Effective communication with clients, project teams, and colleagues, internationally where relevant

Qualifications

  • A degree / qualification in the built environment (engineering, architecture, building science or physics) is required, with mechanical engineering considered favourable
  • Experience working within the Building Physics / ESD / Sustainability sector, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Experience working within the Singapore and South East Asia regional market
  • Technical background to understand performance challenges beyond a mechanical services brief, including fundamental engineering knowledge (e.g., heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics)
  • Experience in building physics including interstitial condensation, energy + comfort modelling, parametric modelling using Rhino/Grasshopper, hygrothermal engineering (WUFI, THERM + LBNL family), CFD modellingty strategies.
